On The Needles

I'd planned to have the prayer shawl blocked and ready to show you today but life got in the way.  I use my dining room table for blocking and it's currently unavailable.  We're remodeling our kitchen, (repainting the cabinets and replacing the counter tops and sink) and every single thing that used to live in our kitchen is now spread out all over the dining room.

So, instead of a blocked and finished shawl, I have my Stroll cowl to show.  And I'm not even doing a good job of showing it.  It's dark and stormy - again - and the light in our house is awful.  And yes, that is my mitered square blanket over my legs.  It may be 90 degrees and 4,000% humidity outside but it is Freezing inside our house.  And looking out the window at the storm clouds and wind-blown trees just makes me feel that much colder.

But it's okay to be cold.  I have yarn.

  1. That's funny. Last night I was sitting in my living room wrapped in a shawl with a winter hat on my head for the same reason. I even debated digging out some socks. I just couldn't get warm in the AC and went and turned it up a notch.
I've got kitchen envy now. I had the measuring tape out yesterday planning my big rip out and redo but I couldn't get any enthusiasm out of The Mister. I guess I need to wait until we get all my stash back out of the living room first.

    1. I've been having craft room envy for a while so I guess all is fair in renovation wars. :) Putting everything back in to the new craft room will probably help motivate The Mister towards the kitchen.

  2. Okay, I'll refrain from telling you about the weater around here ;-) Yarn is good when you're cold (when you're warm too). The cowl looks great!

  3. Yesterday I was soooo happy I could wear pants to guild, more so because I didn't want to shave my legs, but still. Cooler weather makes me happy! And this week I will be happy because the highs won't reach 80°!!!

    1. LOL, I complain because I have to wear pants to my outdoor, summer job but every single morning when I'm in the shower, I tell myself how glad I am that I don't have to bother shaving today.

  4. I was cold last night too! Could not get warm. Finally put on PJ pants and a sweatshirt and slippers! And turned off the ceiling fans which Fletch had put on.

  5. no dark and stormy today, it's sunny and breezy and lovely. Can't wait to see you project when you do block it. I love cowls and yours.

  6. That prayer shawl is going to be so lovely for someone. It will STAY on the shoulders like the arm of a friend when you need one!
