Tangerine Speckle

I'm going to be right up front about it.  Today's Three on Thursday post contains affiliate links.  Knit Picks sent me two coordinating skeins of their new speckled Sock Labs Stroll yarn to play with and I couldn't be more excited.  The colors are Tangerine and Tangerine Speckle.  I normally lean towards much more subdued colorways and most likely would never have chosen these colors for myself but I absolutely LOVE them!

Now, the question is, what do they want to be?

I'm leaning towards the Rayas Cowl.

I feel like the brightness of the Tangerine calls for a simple design.

Even the 'solid' color is slightly speckled.

But then, with all that speckle, perhaps I should knit a Speckle Tonic shawl.

I love how the solid and speckles yarns play together in that one.

Or perhaps an Out of Winter shawl.

  4. That's a great color! I think I'd make one of the shawls. Most skin colors don't go too well with a lot of orange too close to the face like it would be in the cowl. Unless you're planning to give it to someone with a darker skin, of course. I see people here wearing orange all the time and on them it looks wonderful.

  5. Whatever you knit, it will be beautiful! I love those colors; they remind me of Creamsicles!

  6. I think the cowl would be quite a statement. The orange would make very striking stripes. The good news is if you begin a project and it doesn't seem to be the one, you can rip it out and start something else. I love that about knitting.
