On the needles

Felix is still on my needles.

But not for long.  He's only got a tiny bit over a half an arm to go.  

Happily, or not so happily, depending on how you look at it, Felix looks a lot better on me than he does on the mannequin.  The mannequin is much smaller than I am and has a 25 inch waist.  Mine is, ahem, slightly larger.  

I'm quite happy with Felix's fit.  I was a little worried about how it would look on me.  In all the photos I've seen of other people's he's always been so cropped.  I was afraid he was going to accent my slightly more than 25 inches waist.  But all things considered, he looks okay on me and I'm pretty happy with him.  

Now, just to fight those darn plastic dpns and get that sleeve finished.

Just a quick OTN update.

Remember Tiny Tea Leaves?  It got shoved down to the bottom of the knitting bag while I knit Christmas gifts.  I only have a sleeve and a half left to knit.  And well, I guess the button band.  The point is, I should be able to knock out this baby in time for Christmas too.  I better!  Hayden is only eight months old, almost nine, and already wearing 18 month size clothing.  She's slim but tall.  Anyway, I thought I had until late summer of 2021 to get this little 2T sweater knit but apparently not.

If you're interested, I'm knitting it with Blossom Heather Wool of the Andes.  I'm not normally a big fan of pink - I may have mentioned that a few times before - but I LOVE this Blossom Heather colorway.  I have knit many, many hats and mittens for my Etsy shop as well as for various gifts.  I'm not sure it will look too good with my skin tone but one of these days I'm going to knit myself a sweater with it.  It's just such a pretty, pale heathered pink.  It's just perfect!  It's a delicate, pale pink without looking the least bit babyish. And after I knit the sweater for myself, I just may knit a blanket and some pillows and maybe a skirt.  Thankfully it will take me a lifetime to get all that knit because if I'm going to wear a knit skirt, I'm going to loose 100 lbs first.  I have time!  😊

Gosh, this December blogging is tricky and extremely hard to photograph.  Everything I'm knitting is either a Christmas gift or a Big Secret Project.

I did start a simple, stockinette hat so that I'd have something mindless to knit on while I read my email. 

Living Nativity

The other night we attended a living nativity at a nearby farm.  We've been meaning to go for years but always forget (they only do it for three nights) or else it's raining or 18 below zero and I'm a weather wimp.  Anyway, we finally remembered to go this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. 

I'd also like to know more about that baby Jesus.  Goodness, he was a good baby!  He was awake the whole time (we watched the 'show' twice so we were there for about an hour) and he never made a peep.  He just laid in Mary's arms, looking around and occasionally kicking one foot just enough so that you knew he was a real baby.  Baby Jesus was so well behaved, while walking back to our car, Sarah and I turned to each other and, at the same time, asked, "Was that baby drugged?" and "How much NyQuil do you think they gave that baby?"

I'm knitting a hat for the shop or for a Christmas gift.  At the moment, it's anyone's guess.
